I again send my deepest thanks to all of you who contributed to a successful, and I hope fun, time at Tangier Island. There was much planning, and cooperative efforts that went into making this a good operation. Especially I thank Parke Slater for stepping up and making sure everything was coordinated and in place. Everyone stepped up to the plate and I, and I know Parke, feel that this exemplified what the DDXG is all about. Every member and friend (regularly attending non-members) showed a great deal of enthusiasm in making this a really great time. A remnant of the very first time seven of us met in my living room is the fact that we are a diverse and multi-talented group and we use those talents to really make a good club. I look forward to joining you all for many more adventures. Some will be recurring, such as Tangier, but I know that there are new and different quests on the horizon. I also thank the ladies for all that they bring to the group. Even if they are not members or licensed operators they are necessary to the well being and continued success of the group by the support they give. We are blessed to have opportunities that we can share our hobby and our family. Let's make sure we never separate the two. Now, there is some more work to do with Tangier. Logs to be tallied and submitted; QSL cards requested and sent as appropriate. Please be willing to help where it's needed. If there are any issues with the recovery of all equipment to its rightful place please notify Parke and myself. We will all work to rectify those issues. Again, thanks to all who participated in this event. For those of you who weren't able to join us on Tangier you also contributed in ways that may not be seen but are known by some. To those who had no personal commitment to the club we owe a special thanks for their help. Thanks to everyone. 73, Guy K4CNF President, Dominion DX Group (K4VAC) |
